چکیده

Dextranase (α-1,6-D-glucan, 6-glucanohydrolase; E.C.3.2.1.11) is an enzyme which hydrolizes the α1,6 glucosidic linkages in dextran, found in higher plants, mammalian tissues, fungi and bacteria [1]. The enzyme has several applications in medicine and sugar industry because of its hydrolizing capacity of dextran. The presence of dextran has many negative effects in sugar processing levels such as sucrose loss, increased viscosity of process syrups and poor recovery of sucrose. Using dextranase can solve many problems in sugar processing due to microbial dextran deposits. Because dextranase can hydrolyze or inhibit the synthesis of glucans, it can be used in treatment of dental plaque. It is also used for preparing low molecular weight dextran and cytotoxic dextranconjugate and dextranase is showed as an enhancer of antibiotic activity in endocarditis [2-5]. Moreover, dextranase has gain attention because of directed synthesis of isomaltooligosaccharides which have been shown to exhibit prebiotic effects. One of the different ways of obtaining isomaltooligosaccharides is digestion of dextran polymer with dextranase enzyme [6,7].

The Effects of Paecilomyces lilacinus on the Pathogenesis of Meloidogyne Javanica and Tomato Plant Growth Parameters

The present study is based on the investigation of a soil hyphomyces, Paecilomyces lilacinus, an opportunistic bio-control agent, in controlling root-knot nematode Meloidogyne javanica on tomato in greenhouse conditions. P. lilacinus, effectively promoted the growth of plants inoculated with M. javanica by suppressing its pathogenesis as root galling by the nematode and egg mass production was ...

Testing the nematophagous biological control strain Paecilomyces lilacinus 251 for paecilotoxin production.

Paecilomyces lilacinus is a nematophagous fungus currently developed as a biological control agent. In order to evaluate potential toxin production, culture extract and concentrated culture supernatant of P. lilacinus strain 251 were tested against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. High-performance liquid chromatography analysis was carried out to compare the chromatograms of P. lilacin...

In Vitro Ovicidal Activity of Nematophagous Fungus Paecilomyces lilacinus on the Eggs of Parasitic Helminths

Introduction: The nematophagus fungi have been suggested as an alternative way to eliminate the zoonotic helminths eggs from the environment. In the present study, we evaluated the ovicidal activity of a fungus, Paecilomyces lilacinus, recovered from a compost soil, on the eggs of parasitic helminths under in vitro condition. Methods: Water suspension of the soil samples collected from differen...

Biotransformation of biphenyl by Paecilomyces lilacinus and characterization of ring cleavage products.

We examined the pathway by which the fungicide biphenyl is metabolized in the imperfect fungus Paecilomyces lilacinus. The initial oxidation yielded the three monohydroxylated biphenyls. Further hydroxylation occurred on the first and the second aromatic ring systems, resulting in the formation of five di- and trihydroxylated metabolites. The fungus could cleave the aromatic structures, resulti...
